“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy”
Psalm 126:3
Breakthrough Tee-Off & Gala Dinner 2025
Minister for National Development and the Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration
Praise the Lord! Since its founding on 1 July 1983, Breakthrough Missions has remained faithful to God’s calling to preach the life-transforming gospel of Jesus Christ and to carry out gospel based drug rehabilitation. Over the years, we have embraced the mission of love through selfless and committed service, helping more than 1,500 residents struggling with drug addiction.
We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of Singapore Prison Service under its Halfway House Service Model (HSM). In 1988, Breakthrough partnered with the Government to utilize state land under a Temporary Occupation License (TOL) at Labrador Park. After 10 years of hard work and evident results, we were approved in 1999 to relocate to a 2-hectare site at Yew Siang Road. In July 2023, Singapore Prison Service arranged for Breakthrough to take over a 3-hectare plot-the former Lloyd Leas Community Supervision Centre at 1 Cosford Road, comprising 10 single-storey and 3 double-storey buildings. Our hearts were filled with gratitude and joy on 1 July 2023 (exactly 40 years), as more than 70 of us at Breakthrough sang “How Great Thou Art” together, stepping into the land of blessed grace that the Lord has prepared for Breakthrough. All glory, praise, and honor belong to our Father in Heaven!
Over the past 40 years, churches have also played a vital role in this journey. With their love and acceptance, they have embraced individuals in recovery, helping them grow spiritually and find their place in the body of Christ. This further helped the brothers to face lesser issues in church. Breakthrough serves as a bridge between the church and those once lost—extending hope, love, and restoration. Through these valuable partnerships with both the government and the church, we have helped and equipped many ex-offenders reintegrate into society in a structured and grounded manner, becoming blessings to their families, communities and the nation. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Phil 1:4-6
We are now moving into Phase Two, which includes site preparation and the construction of two brand-new single-storey buildings. These new facilities will provide space for comprehensive skills training and a quiet environment for spiritual growth. This development is not only for the brothers currently undergoing the program, but also for former brothers who have returned to society and their families. It is a special invitation for them to come back, experience the warmth of the new Breakthrough environment, fellowship together, share testimonies of God’s love and grace, and strengthen the bonds of lasting relationships...
Love Never Fails !
To better support our residents and returning alumni, we are constructing two single-story
buildings designed to enhance training, community engagement, and rehabilitation efforts.

To realize this vision, our aim is to raise approximately S$5million. Your support will help us build a nurturing environment where lives can be transformed through skills training, spiritual renewal, and strong community support. Together, we can empower individuals to break free from addiction, rebuild their lives, and contribute meaningfully to society.
You can support us in any of these ways:
All cash donations are eligible for a 250% tax deduction. Your giving becomes a channel of grace, like the five loaves and two fish, bringing blessings to the Breakthrough family. Your generosity and compassion empower us to help former drug offenders rebuild their lives with purpose and dignity—bringing meaningful contributions and blessings to the nation, society, and families. In the event that the amount that Breakthrough Missions actually incurred and expended for the work is less than the amount raised, the excess amount will be used to fund and support the operational expenses and other Breakthrough renovation projects.

Breakthrough’s Vision
We were once a group of individuals going in and out of prison, bound by drugs and sin—until one day, we experienced the miraculous redemption of Christ and became new creations. We responded to the call of our Lord Jesus with hearts full of gratitude and a desire to give back. On 1 July 1983, holding on to the Lord’s promises and walking by faith, we began the vision and mission of Breakthrough Missions’ gospel-based drug rehabilitation halfway house. As the saying goes, “When one falls into drug addiction, the whole family suffers—bringing harm to oneself and others. But when one believes in the Lord, the whole family receives grace and blessing—bringing glory to God and benefit to people.“ To this day, Breakthrough remains faithful and focus on the beginning calling to the mission of love entrusted to us by the Lord...1) Gospel Rehabilitation 2) Gospel Enterprises 3) Gospel Ambassadors.
Breakthrough’s Conviction
❖ Breakthrough is a faith-based non-profit organization and we do not charge a fee. Our lives are nourished and sustained by the power of the Gospel and on the love blessings of our brothers and sisters in churches and the hard work of our social enterprises to support our daily operations.
❖ Our drug rehabilitation counselling program is built on the gospel, emphasizing transformation through faith rather than relying on medication or self-willpower.
❖ The Bible is our ultimate authority and guiding standard for life, character, and spiritual growth.
Breakthrough’s Program
At Breakthrough, our drug rehabilitation program is rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ. From the moment the brothers join us, they embark on a life-changing journey. Through spiritual discipleship, vocational training, and practical life skills, they are equipped holistically to build strong Christian character and values. They begin to heal and grow—restoring their identity in Christ, learning responsibility, and developing habits for a transformed life and will gradually reintegrated into church and family life. After three years, whether stepping back into society or serving as part of the Breakthrough team, these brothers become living cloud witnesses for Christ. As salt and light, they carry the hope of the gospel into the world, spreading the blessing of a transformed life to the ends of the earth.
18-Month Life Foundation Program
We offer a one-year core rehabilitation program followed by six months of follow-up discipleship. Set in a quiet and protected environment, away from the influences of past addictions and temptations, participants are given space to reflect on their lives. They are guided through spiritual formation, work training, and life skill development with the goal of holistic recovery and growth. Genuine life change requires a grounded and steady approach—step by step, with no shortcuts and no illusions. As the saying goes, “It takes three years to build a good life, but only three days to ruin it.” At Breakthrough, we believe in deep, long-term transformation:3 years to lay a strong foundation, 5 years to test that foundation,7 years to take root, grow, and bear lasting fruit. True transformation is a lifelong commitment, sustained through perseverance.
Personal Growth & Spiritual Development
It is the most crucial element—God’s Word is the only true pathway to transform the human heart. It corrects distorted values from the past and builds spiritual virtues in our lives. “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever he does prospers.” Psalm 1:2–3

At the end of 3 years: reintegrate into society, make progress into community
After 3 years of intensive equipping, participants will have gained maturity in various aspects of life and living. Some return to the community and witness for the Lord in their workplace; others respond to God’s call and choose to strengthen their brothers now that they have returned. Regardless of the direction taken the ultimate goal is to go into society, the community, and to the ends of the earth to lead the lost souls to Christ, and make disciples of nations for Jesus. All praise, honor, power and glory be to our Father in heaven.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matt 5:16
Conclusion
One encounter with drugs can lead to a lifetime of regret. Rebuilding a life damaged by addiction requires many years and a great price. There is no shortcut or instant success. But for those who persevere to the end they can experience complete breakthrough and through the marvelous redemptive grace and the life transformation power of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. They can become a new creation… “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Cor 5:17.
Thanks be to God! Our mission is living a life that glorifies God, blesses others, loves people, and draws them to our Lord Jesus Christ ! Hallelujah! Amen!
