On 17 May 2024, we were invited to attend the inaugural Drug Victims Remembrance Day held at Ngee Ann City. This annual event aims to raise greater awareness of the harm that drug abuse causes. While the direct harm caused by drugs is important to note, it is equally vital to understand the impact of drugs on family members, loved ones, and the community. The World Health Organisation reported 600,000 deaths attributed to drug abuse in 2019. Let’s work together to provide comfort and hope for affected victims, their families, and loved ones who are suffering in silence, grief, and loss.
Praise and thanks to the Lord! CAC Singapore President, Rev. Dr. Gregory Goh, and 40 pastors from various Methodist churches in Singapore held their CAC Pastors’ Fellowship in our Breakthrough Chapel on 13 May 2024. We prepared a sumptuous lunch for them and had a wonderful time of fellowship. Thereafter, Pastor Simon shared how the Lord has done great things for us over the past 40 years on this mission journey of faith. Our worship team presented songs and testimonies. Their visit has certainly left us feeling inspired and greatly encouraged.
All glory to God! Our lives were once in disarray, yet He has called us the apple of His eye, restoring us and giving us a new identity in Christ. Where prison was once our reality, we now have countless opportunities to testify for Him, including a remarkable breakthrough moment when we stepped into Parliament House.
On May 8, 2024, we were honored to attend the Ministerial Statement on the National Drug Policy delivered by Minister Shanmugam at Singapore Parliament House. This day also marked the final sitting as Prime Minister for Mr. Lee Hsien Loong after 40 years of dedicated service in Parliament. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to take photos with him, as well as with incoming Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, becoming first-hand witnesses to a significant transition in Singapore’s leadership. All praise and glory be to God!
