Fellowship Dinner by the SG500 Asia Cities Forum

Praise and thanks be to God! He has done great things for Breakthrough Missions. We are filled with immense gratitude and honor to have the presence of both Mr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower, and Ms. Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Ministry of Trade and Industry, joining the Fellowship Dinner on 19 Sep 2024 at Breakthrough Changi Cafe, facilitated by Mr. Ng of Far East Organisation. We are thankful to God for Mr. Ng’s consistent support and encouragement. It was a joy to see our guests enjoying dinner while listening to Breakthrough’s worship team present their self-composed songs. Our Executive Director, Pastor Simon Neo, shared an inspiring message on God’s power of redemption and Breakthrough Missions’ vision and future plans.

We were deeply touched and encouraged by the wonderful response of our local and overseas distinguished guests. We give thanks and praise to God! All glory and honor to His wonderful name! Amen!

ISAAC Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 2024

The Triennial Isaac Conference, held from 9 to 13 September 2024, gathered leaders from churches and halfway houses across different countries to address the growing challenge of substance addiction. It was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and featured speakers from around the globe, including Asia, who shared their concerns and ideas. Keynote speakers stressed the importance of compassionate and holistic approaches to treatment. Panel discussions showcased innovative therapies, community support programs, and policy reforms, while workshops addressed topics such as stigma reduction, family support, and relapse prevention. Attendees gained valuable insights into evidence-based practices and benefited from networking opportunities. The conference highlighted the critical role of collaboration and empathy in helping individuals overcome addiction and achieve long-term recovery.

Breakthrough Missions’ objective is to see lives transformed through life-impacting relationships, so that change in individuals will bring meaningful contributions to society, the community, and their families.

Closer Ties and Partnership with Singapore Prison

After moving to Cosford Road, Breakthrough Missions is now 10 minutes away from the Singapore Prison Complex and one bus stop away from the Selarang Park Community Supervision Centre (SPCSC). Now that we are closer to each other, we are working very closely with the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) as a community partner, supporting them in key events such as the annual Yellow Ribbon Run 2024.

On 6 September 2024, we hosted a visit by international delegates during SPS’s International Corrections and Prisons Association Annual Conference (ICPA) at our centre. Pastor Simon shared his testimony and the Breakthrough ministry, and our worship team presented their newly composed songs. Chef Peter Teo and Brother Kelvin Tan shared their stories as desisters, and the visit ended with lunch prepared by our kitchen team. We thank God for the opportunity to share with the international delegates the great salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ. May our lives be a living testimony and a cloud of witnesses to our Lord Jesus Christ’s saving grace, and may we be a great blessing to many.
