As part of their community service project, several residents under the HSM+ programme were invited to partner with Breakthrough’s Music Team for a special visit to St. Luke’s ElderCare in May. For these residents, this was their very first experience stepping into a Senior Activity Centre, and it marked a milestone in their rehabilitation journey. What started as a simple afternoon of song presentations soon turned into a meaningful time of interaction and encouragement, not just for the elderly but for our brothers as well. Though initially reserved and visibly nervous when told they would need to introduce themselves and lead parts of the presentation, each resident took a courageous step forward, overcame their fears, and gave their very best. Their authenticity and joy resonated deeply with the elderly, many of whom clapped, sang along, and warmly engaged throughout the session. As the programme went on, our residents grew more confident and even took the opportunity to start conversations and share light-hearted moments with the elderly. After the event, our residents shared how grateful they were to be part of something so uplifting, as it gave them the opportunity to give back, bring smiles, and reflect the love of Christ through music and presence. To God be all the glory!
In the spirit of giving back, we partnered with HUG Community Services in May for two memorable events this year — the SG60 Fashion Show and a Mother’s Day celebration. Our residents assisted with logistics and security, engaging warmly with participants throughout. Some even invited their families, turning the experience into a touching moment of service, connection, and shared joy.
