Breakthrough Village - Home for gospel-based rehabilitation 

Praise the Lord! Breakthrough Missions will be relocating to its new premises in 2023. The new centre will be named “Breakthrough Village”. Not only will it continue the vision and mission of Breakthrough Missions, its development will also be based on the same community hub model, offering various workshops and training programs to equip the residents with work skills for their re-integration into society.   

Training programs have been planned for 12 enterprises to date. These include the café business and services such as moving house, landscaping, home painting, cleaning, car polishing, bookbinding, mounting paintings, copper tooling, restoring furniture, haircutting, and the preparation and sale of honey-baked ham. Breakthrough Village will also have a fitness centre, a library and multimedia centre, a central kitchen and a centre for laundry services.  

Across the road from Breakthrough Village is the bungalow which Breakthrough Missions rented in July 1983 to start its journey of heavenly mission of Gospel-based rehabilitation. Praise the Lord!  

Breakthrough Missions Social Enterprise – Breakthrough Art & Craft Café 

Breakthrough Art & Craft Café has been operating in its Chinatown premises (near the subordinate courts) for 17 years. Its business was badly hit by Covid19. After much prayer, and consultation with BT committee members, it was decided that the lease would be renewed for another 6-12 months while we waited for the Lord’s guidance. Owing to Breakthrough Missions’ relocation and related plans for future development, we intend to purchase two shophouse units in Changi to continue the Café’s mission of God’s heavenly kingdom. This social enterprise will provide our brothers with training and work opportunities in the trade.  The café will also be an ideal place where many can come to know Christ through the life-transformation testimonies of our brothers. 

Future development plans for Changi

The government plans to develop the Changi area and have it upgraded as a heritage site. This will draw crowds of visitors to Changi Village, the beautiful Changi beaches and Pulau Ubin, just off the shores at Changi. Breakthrough Village and Breakthrough Café will also be places to visit for families and church groups.

Praise the Lord! We found two shophouse units with food and beverage (F&B) approval for sale The total cost (purchase price and renovation) is $4,500,000. Praise the Lord, half the amount has been raised. We hope to reach the $4.5m target before the end of this year, 2021.
